Volunteering with Us

If you are interested in volunteering for POOPS WA, registration is possible via our online application form:

Step 1

All volunteers need current police clearance. This certificate is obtained by yourself and available to use for your own requirements. Your National Police Clearance (NPC)  is required to be no older than six (6) months from the date of your application with POOPS WA.

When you have received the certificate, upload with your application to volunteer with POOPS WA. Please wait until you have received the NPC before submitting a Volunteer Application to POOPS.

If you already have a NPC (no older than six months), please upload a copy of the certificate at the required section of the application to volunteer with POOPS WA.

  • Click the link to make an online application for a National Police Certificate (NPC) – forms are also available at your nearest post office – this costs around $65 and will cover you for all volunteering work.

Step 2

Fill out the POOPS online application form or send a query through the website. On the application form, attach (upload)  the required ID and select/upload your NPC. Also indicate your preferences – dogs or cats, dog walking, feeding, helping with transport to/from vet, how far you are willing to travel from home – or in which suburbs you can assist. Please also indicate if you can help with administration or coordination.

Step 3

Registration is complete when you have undergone the brief induction process:

(a) When you have read, understood and checked the Induction video;
(b) Had a face-to-face meeting with your Coordinator.

Exactly when you will have an opportunity to assist depends on client demand in your nominated area.

Volunteers are required to be over the age of 18. We can accept younger volunteers, however this requires additional information for your application – please email membership@poopswa.org.au for the requirements.
