POOPS WA (Pets of Older Persons WA) is a no-fee, volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping people and their pets stay together. Our dedicated volunteers step in to help with dog walking and transport to vet or grooming appointments, ensuring that no one has to say goodbye to their pet due to age, or health challenges.

Since 2010, POOPS WA (Pets Of Older People) has helped older adults and people in palliative care continue to enjoy the companionship of their dogs. We believe that pets are family, and our volunteer network provides practical support to those who need it most.
For many older adults, pets provide vital companionship, purpose, and emotional support. But age-related health issues, recovery from surgery, or limited mobility can make everyday pet care challenging. That’s where POOPS can help.

“Knowing what your dog needs and then not being able to meet those needs sits with you day in and day out. At one stage I was even thinking I’d have to rehome her but now that her physical needs are met and she is a bit older it’s possible for us to be happy here."
