Welcome to POOPS (Pets of Older Persons)
POOPS is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers that provides a fee-free pet care service for elderly or disabled pet owners. We have been carrying out our mission of ‘Keeping people and pets together’ since 2010. Today we support clients in the Greater Perth Metro area and Busselton.
At POOPS we believe no one should have to give up their pets due to age, disability or poor health and our volunteers actively work to keep people with their pets for as long as possible. Our generous volunteers form ongoing relationships with our clients.
Our clients are pet owners who are over the age of 65, palliative care patients of any age, or people with disabilities who need assistance with caring for their beloved pets and are unable to pay for support.

Becoming a POOPS volunteer gives you access to our volunteers-only private Facebook group where you can meet other volunteers and get support from the wider POOPS volunteer community.
“Its been unbelievably good and to think its a voluntary organisation, I’m very grateful for it”
I think it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me since I’ve been here, because before I was getting really down, not down in the dumps but you’re just on your own a lot and now I’ve got people coming nearly every day… Sophie and I have a very busy life meeting people and I love meeting people I really do.
“Being without transport, I know if I have an emergency, she (volunteer Jane L) would take me to the vet, she’s become more of a friend to me now and I think the world of her and I think the whole concept of POOPS is marvellous and I know there are many people, particularly older people who live for their dogs and as long as the dogs are taken care of that’s their main worry”
Buying merchandise from our store is a great way to donate to the organisation. Show off your support with a tee, tote, cap or a cute accessory for your fur-pal to wear to the park!
All proceeds raised go directly back to POOPS to help us keep pets and their people together
