Can you help

Great things are happening at POOPS and we are always looking for volunteers in each area, let us know if you want to be involved! While we are always in need of new volunteers, there are sometimes specific roles that need a special blend of passion and talent to fill. If we have one of these roles listed below,  let us know if it sounds like the right fit for you!

POOPS Coordinator – Volunteer Position

Purpose:

We need your help in keeping people and their pets together.

If you are an animal lover and want to help our community care for and stay together with their beloved pets, come join our team of amazing volunteers in this vitally important admin role.

Our Coordinators become match makers! You match the volunteers to the dogs with the end result being to get our much loved (but not walked) POOPS dogs sniffing and exercising outside of the house!

We rely on the generosity and dedication of volunteers to provide many of the support services offered in the POOPS program. Our Coordinators develop some wonderful relationships with our volunteer dog walkers and receive fabulous feedback from our senior clients when they organise to have a volunteer come and walk their precious pet.

The role itself can easily be split as either Coordinators or Coordinator and Assistant with the tasks shared. By having a team of two you can work together and cover each other when needed.

Location:

Perth Central & Eastern area.

Time Commitment/Expectation:

5 – 10 hours a week Flexible, depends on the tasks shared with the Assistant.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Communication skills, comfortable talking to all ages, you will be the first contact for both volunteers and clients
  • Resilience, patience and empathy in potentially emotional situations
  • Understanding of POOPS services and/or willingness to learn,
  • Good computer skills with the ability to learn new programs, full training is provided

You will need your own PC/laptop to work from, and a phone to check in with our volunteers and clients on a regular basis.
