While we are always in need of new volunteers, there are sometimes specific roles that need a special blend of passion and talent to fill. Fundraising Manager – Volunteer Position

 

Purpose:

Reporting to the Fundraising Committee Sponsor, you will assemble and lead the Fundraising Sub-Committee to secure ongoing funding and support for Marketing, client and volunteer services, day-to-day operations and new initiatives through grants, personal donations, corporate gifts and sponsorships and corporate partnerships.

 

Duties:

The fundraising for POOPS has historically been done by one person. As the organisation has grown so has the role and we would like to expand this into a team to explore the different types of fundraising. This role will carry out fundraising activities for POOPS and assemble a team if and when they feel that extra help is required.

 

  • developing the annual fundraising strategy and budget in consultation with the fundraising committee sponsor; 
  • fielding fundraising queries or opportunities and actioning or assigning to team members;
  • engaging and training volunteers interested in being involved in the fundraising team;
  • overseeing the Airtable fundraising database;
  • reporting updates, needs, challenges and opportunities to the Fundraising Committee Sponsor; and
  • familiarity with organisation finances to support treasurer as a back-up in case of holidays or illness.

  • Fundraising Committee Sponsor
  • Treasurer
  • Marketing Manager
  • Operations Manager 

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Mentoring, finance, fundraising, corporate partnerships, excellent people leader
 

You will need your own PC/laptop to work from and a phone.

POOPS Welcome Officers – Volunteer Position

 

** Note that we are currently recruiting for Welcome Officers who reside in the City of Rockingham, City of Kwinana and City of Armadale areas.**

 

Purpose:

To provide a welcoming onboarding experience for new POOPS clients. 

 

Duties:

  • Meet our new POOPS clients (and their furry dependents) in-person, at their home, and understand their needs as it relates to our services and their ongoing relationship with their pet,
  • Provide a welcoming contact point for POOPS clients to answer questions and set expectations about service,
  • Report findings of onboarding meetings to appropriate stakeholders within POOPS, using our online database/email,
  • Meet regularly with the wider Operations sub-committee to provide guidance and ensure activities and messaging are in line with the wider POOPS values and strategy and are achieving the goals of the organisation,
  • Regular updates to the Operations Manager on efficacy of services and emerging issues,
  • Working closely with wider Operations sub-committee to identify emerging issues and opportunities for improvement.

 

Location:

These are newly created roles and we are currently recruiting for Welcome Officers who reside in the City of Rockingham, City of Kwinana and City of Armadale areas.

 

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Drivers licence and access to a vehicle to visit new POOPS clients. (A fuel subsidy/allowance will be payable for POOPS related travel)
  • Experience in the care/support/nursing/counselling sectors is favourable, and interest in meeting and talking with older people.
  • Basic understanding of pet (mainly dog) behaviour, and/or willingness to learn,
  • Resilience, patience and empathy in potentially emotional situations,
  • Understanding of POOPS services and/or willingness to learn,
  • Minimum basic database and email skills, but training will be provided,

You will need your own PC/laptop to work from, and a phone to call our clients to arrange a meeting.

 

Time Commitment/Expectation:

8-10 hours per month, flexible, dependent on new client demand.
