While we are always in need of new volunteers, there are sometimes specific roles that need a special blend of passion and talent to fill. Team Leader Marketing – Volunteer Position

 

Would you love to lead an awesome marketing team that’s dedicated to keeping pets and their owners together?

Then this is the perfect role for you, as the Team Leader for a great team of vounteers, who are a skilled, friendly, enthusiastic and social bunch. This role doesn’t require a huge time commitment – but does require experience in leading a team, great communication skills, and an ability to ‘think outside the box.’
 
You would be the ‘touchstone’ for the team in upholding POOPS strategic goals and facilitating coordination of team effort. The role of the marketing team is to increase public awareness of our wonderful and much-loved service – aiming to boost POOPS’ public profile in order to reach clients, volunteers and possible funders.
 

The role involves:

  • Facilitating communication within marketing team, and with admin teams & volunteer leaders.
  • Supported by our Management Committee sponsor
  • Supported by POOPS’ volunteer marketing consultant on strategy and planning.

 

The marketing team consists of:

  • Social Media manager
  • Media Liaison & Stories
  • Public Spokesperson
  • Merchandising manager (online shop and event merch)
  • Graphic designer/branding
  • Direct marketing lead
  • Events – volunteer & external

Client Support Coordinator – Volunteer Position

 

Purpose:

Build and maintain the newly-created Client Support Services area of POOPS to provide holistic support to our clients.

 

Duties:

  • Implementation of Client Support activities such as emergency services, end of life planning for pets and owners, and, link-up support services for pet owners,
  • Meet regularly with the wider Operations sub-committee to provide guidance and ensure activities and messaging are in line with the wider POOPS values and strategy and are achieving the goals of the organisation,
  • Liaising with other POOPS admins to action leads acquired via direct marketing,
  • Maintaining strategic partnerships with other businesses and organisations that support POOPS’ Client Support activities,
  • Creating and maintaining Airtable database of organisations/ individuals that assist in providing client support services,
  • Regular updates to the Operations Manager on efficacy of services and emerging issues,
  • Working closely with wider Operations sub-committee to identify emerging issues and opportunities for improvement.

 

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Aged care/ palliative care, stakeholder engagement, project management, computer skills, ability to empathise and problem solve in emotional situations.

 

Time Commitment/Expectation:

Initially 12-16 hours per month for implementation period. This will decrease once projects are up and running. All work is completed remotely and independently. POOPS is flexible with hours worked. NB. You will need your own PC/laptop to work from.

POOPS Welcome Officers – Volunteer Position


Purpose:

To provide a welcoming onboarding experience for new POOPS clients. 


Duties:

  • Meet our new POOPS clients (and their furry dependents) in-person, at their home, and understand their needs as it relates to our services and their ongoing relationship with their pet,
  • Provide a welcoming contact point for POOPS clients to answer questions and set expectations about service,
  • Report findings of onboarding meetings to appropriate stakeholders within POOPS, using our online database/email,
  • Meet regularly with the wider Operations sub-committee to provide guidance and ensure activities and messaging are in line with the wider POOPS values and strategy and are achieving the goals of the organisation,
  • Regular updates to the Operations Manager on efficacy of services and emerging issues,
  • Working closely with wider Operations sub-committee to identify emerging issues and opportunities for improvement.


Location:

These are newly created roles and we are currently looking for Welcome Officers in all Perth metro areas.


Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Drivers licence and access to a vehicle to visit new POOPS clients. (A fuel subsidy/allowance will be payable for POOPS related travel)
  • Experience in the care/support/nursing/counselling sectors is favourable, and interest in meeting and talking with older people.
  • Basic understanding of pet (mainly dog) behaviour, and/or willingness to learn,
  • Resilience, patience and empathy in potentially emotional situations,
  • Understanding of POOPS services and/or willingness to learn,
  • Minimum basic database and email skills, but training will be provided,

You will need your own PC/laptop to work from, and a phone to call our clients to arrange a meeting.


Time Commitment/Expectation:

8-10 hours per month, flexible, dependent on new client demand.
