Our Patron

Pets of Older Persons is delighted to welcome Ms Lisa Baker MLA as Patron of the organisation.

Lisa has represented the people of Maylands electorate as a Member of the WA Parliament for over a decade.

Lisa is considered  to be the ‘go to’ MP for animal protection and well-being, and an advocate for animal-welfare volunteers

Lisa is responsible for creating and delivering the WA Labor government’s ‘Stop Puppy Farming’ policy, and is working to improve the welfare of greyhounds involved in the racing industry in WA. She combines her experience in animal protection with her support for seniors and the vulnerable as the new patron of POOPS.

POOPS is also grateful to its previous Patron Dr Penny Flett, CEO of Brightwater Homes. A former national finalist for Australian of the Year and holder of Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for her distinguished service to aged care and geriatric medicine, particularly in Western Australia.
